My name is Elis Blackwood, I’m 23 years old and I am the founder of e.L.s designs.
Born in Stratford London, but raised in Scotland I have always had more of a creative mind towards art and colour. Adding too much colour in painting and being expressive with my drawings and sketched I find designing thread wraps allows me to focus and navigate what colour exploration is.
e.L.s designs, established in 2024, rooted in the world of visual textiles and expressive colour design. At the heart of my work are vibrant thread wraps and carefully calculated colour compositions that blend a traditional craft with a more modern, intuitive edge.
e.L.s designs is a unique name known for its tactical storytelling – each piece is a layered exploration of colour, emotion, and movement. No two work are the same; they’re guided by instincts, mood and natural flows of materials.
I hold a BA (hons) in Textiles for Interior and Fashion from the Glasgow School of Arts (2022-2024), attending recent exhibitions including New Designers 2024 and the upcoming Future Icons 2025 Event.
